    The Donation Land Claim Act of , sometimes known as the Donation Land Act, was a statute enacted in late by the United States was intended to promote homestead settlements in the Oregon law, a forerunner of the later Homestead Act, brought thousands of white settlers into the new territory, swelling the ranks of settlers traveling along the Oregon Trail. An Act To provide for the exchange of certain land in the State of Oregon. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Oregon Land Exchange Act of ’’.
